WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT DINOSAURS?

Dinosaurs were some reptiles that lived in the Mesozoic Era before there were
human beings on Earth. They were oviparous, had four legs and a hard, scaly skin.
The Mesozoic Era is also called the Age of Reptiles
The oldest dinosaur fossils have been dated at 230 million years.

One of those ancestors of dinosaurs was Eoraptor.
It was 1 meter in length and 30 centimeters tall and weighed about 10 Kilos.
He lived in the late Triassic period.
They inhabited the Earth for over 150 million years, and then mysteriously disappeared.
There were reptiles from ferocious murderers to tender herbivores.
Dinosaurs had different features that endowing them for survival.
Carnivores have sharp teeth and claws adapted for hunting.
Some herbivores reached enormous size. Others possessed natural weapons such as horns.
A dinosaur skeleton you can find it buried in the ground where there were rivers and lakes.
As the dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago, we can now see their skeletons in
museums.

WHAT DID THEY EAT?

They were carnivores and herbivores.
There were giant herbivorous dinosaurs like Aparatosaurus, Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus,
the largest terrestrial vertebrates of all time.
 Being herbivores lived in herds.
Although some were equipped with horns or armor, they were very peaceful animals.
Some walked on with their four legs and others used their hind legs.

His body was stronger than the carnivores and their forelegs used to be longer.
And there were bipedal carnivores like Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex.

SPECTACULAR SPACE !

A galaxy is an enormous cloud of stars and other celestial bodies.
Galaxies have got different shapes.
Our galaxy is called MILK WAY.
A star is a celestial body with a spherical shape. It made of gases and it produces light and heat.
Our solar system includes the Sun and all the celestial bodies .
Planets are large spherical bodies that revolve around a star (Sun).
The Sun is the star at the centre of our  Solar System. The Sun looks like small in the sky, but it's  a giant compared to the Earth.
Groups:
-----------INNER PLANETS:  Mercury, Venus, The Earth, Mars.
-----------OUTER PLANETS: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
-------------DWARF PLANETS:  Pluto, Eris ...
________

THE EARTH
We live on this Planet .
It is the third planet in order from The Sun.
This planet has got one satellite. It's called "Moon". We always see the same side of the Moon. The Moon is much  smaller than Earth.
The Moon sometimes passes between The Sun and Earth. This is a solar eclipse.
The earth has got two movements : Rotation and Revolution.
It's a sphere .
The earth rotates constantly in the same direction.
It takes twenty four hours . It causes day and night.
The earth revolves around the Sun. It takes one year.
Life on Earth began in the oceans.
Its atmosphere is a mixture of gases:  Nitrogen, oxygen, water vapour, carbon dioxide...

LIVING THINGS

All living things are made up of cells.
Cells are the basic units of life.
We can only see the cells through a microscope. They have got tiny size.
Living things can be unicellular or multicellular.
Living things are classified into five kingdoms:

  • Animal Kingdom
  • Plant Kingdom
  • Fungi Kingdom
  • Protista Kingdom
  • Monera Kingdom
PLANT KINGDOM

They make their own food.
Plants are subject to ground , so they can not move. They  can do all the functions like other living things.
They are multicellular organisms.

Some plants produce seeds and other plants produce spores
SEEDS PLANTS form two groups: Angiosperms and Gymnosperms
Non- Seeds plants can be Ferns and Mosses

PLANT NUTRITION

  • The roots absorb water and minerals to make raw sap.
  • The raw sap goes up the stem to the leaves
  • Photosynthesis takes place in the leaves. They change raw sap into elaborated sap.
  • The elaborated sap takes food to other parts of the plant

Kid's song

It is a day to reflect a little more about how to live appreciating PEACE.
If you live in peace, everything will be in Peace.
WHAT DOES PEACE MEAN FOR KIDS?
We will respect people in each and every land.
We will care for our earth with our heart
We will use our words to speak in a kind way.
Let´s sing these peace songs:

Let us paint some umbrellas for peace January, 30th  2016.

IF YOU OPEN them , you  don’t get wet
IF you close them, they don’t shelter
IF YOU OPEN them WELL, you are drenched
WATER OF HOPE.

IF YOU paint them, they moved you
IF YOU look at them, they convince you
IF you stain them with COLORS
IF you fill up the  VALUES

They ARE THE UMBRELLAs for PEACE

We write PEACE on our t-shirts
